About Us

The Smith Electric Company was founded in 1986 specializing in commercial, industrial and residential electrical projects.  The company began as a "spin-off" of a successful union electrical company in the downtown area of San Jose.  My Father James D. Smith, wanted to stike out on his own and experience the satisfaction of running his own business.  During the first 10 years the company completed many large scale project that changed the very fabric of Silcon Valley.  Such projects as:

• NASA/Ames 11'x11' Windtunnel Control Wiring Project
• NASA/Ames Model Shop Remodel Project
• Alameda Naval Air Station Hanger Controls
• New Safeway Store Downtown Los Altos
• Numerous New Estate Homes in the Bay Area

Recently the company has scaled down our operations and have begun to undertake smaller projects in the $10,000 to $500,000 dollar range.  It is our desire to continue to serve our hundreds of established customers and to engage in projects for new customers where we can demonstrate our level of excellance and to create long term relationships as well.
